Training as a European correspondent is in the recognition procedure.

Europe Correspondent

By training to become a European correspondent, you will acquire excellent foreign language skills as well as administrative and organizational skills.

The language of instruction is mainly German except in the foreign language lessons.

Conditions for admission

  • Successful completion as foreign language correspondent
  • A completed commercial education + C1/C2 English + B2 French, or Spanish, or Japanese, or Korean, or Chinese and

Areas of responsibility

As a European correspondent, you act as a liaison between different languages, cultures, business partners and customers. In addition, you are the company's trump card. You will perform all standard secretarial tasks and correspond in your native language and three other foreign languages.

You will handle correspondence and translations in several foreign languages and conduct contract negotiations until the contract is concluded. You will also be responsible for all diplomatic and administrative activities and maintain international business contacts. You will arrange appointments, organize conferences and business trips, and prepare presentations. You will also look after foreign guests and trading partners.

In all your demanding activities, you will demonstrate sensitivity in dealing with the respective cultures and ways of life. Your foreign language skills are complemented by administrative and organizational skills, making you an all-rounder in everyday (office) life.

Training programme

The training as a European correspondent builds on the successfully completed training as a foreign language correspondent and as a world trade correspondent.

During the one-year training you will specialise in your three foreign languages as well as commercial subjects such as foreign trade, IT, communication training or communication technology. In this way you will refine and deepen your knowledge, which will also qualify you for management positions, for example as a secretary general.

In the course of your training you will acquire very good language skills, sound commercial and experienced IT knowledge, as well as relevant general knowledge in the field of regional studies in the respective foreign languages. By graduating as a European correspondent, you demonstrate that you have a high level of command of the foreign languages you have acquired and that you are at the same time prepared for the professional requirements of commercial professions.

Interesting for foreign language enthusiasts: A successful degree as a European correspondent prepares you for training as a translator.
