From language specialist to language expert
Acting as a liaison between business partners and customers abroad.
As part of your work as Europe Correspondent you are responsible for diverse tasks. You will communicate in your native language as well as in other languages, organise events or product presentations nationally and internationally. You write reports, make agreements with business associates, develop concepts, plan and organise, maintain statistics, look after internationally well-known people and much more.
These responsible tasks you carry out on the basis of the expert knowledge and specifically encouraged key qualifications you obtained. Apart from English, at GPB College you can choose from Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
Europe Correspondents organise highly responsible office tasks, business trips, conferences and meetings and work in production, trade or service companies, in tourism and the hotel industry, as well as media and publishing companies, also at public offices and foreign partners.
Your duties range from scheduling, information and document management to national and international trip management, database maintenance, contract management, human resource management, event management, monitoring deadlines and file management. In addition, heading up secretarial work, looking after customers, developing presentations, participating in translation and interpreting contracts, as well as national and international correspondence.
The training as a European correspondent builds on the successfully completed training as a foreign language correspondent and as a world trade correspondent.
During the one-year training you will specialise in your three foreign languages as well as commercial subjects such as foreign trade, IT, communication training or communication technology. In this way you will refine and deepen your knowledge, which will also qualify you for management positions, for example as a secretary general.
In the course of your training you will acquire very good language skills, sound commercial and experienced IT knowledge, as well as relevant general knowledge in the field of regional studies in the respective foreign languages. By graduating as a European correspondent, you demonstrate that you have a high level of command of the foreign languages you have acquired and that you are at the same time prepared for the professional requirements of commercial professions.
