Introductory trip to Ahlbeck, April 2025

Great weather and plenty of fun were had by our new students during the introductory trip to the Baltic Sea in April. The teaching team had come up with a range of activities to ensure everyone felt comfortable. Through excursions, sports activities, and shared meals, any initial uncertainty quickly disappeared, and after a week, the students returned to their new classes as a stronger, more united team.

As media technology assistants, we like to get creative from time to time. At the Museum of Photography, we were able to explore not only photography but also the fascinating cyanotype printing process in the "Blaue Träume" workshop. The result was a collection of very interesting surrealistic collages.

Physical education with a twist! A real highlight for our winter sports fans is our annual trip to Lienz. Skiing and snowboarding above the clouds, well-developed slopes that are also great for beginners, and the opportunity to get to know each other better outside the classroom.

What better way to get to know each other than to escape everyday life and head to the Baltic Sea! With great accommodation, exciting excursions, and sporting events, fun was the top priority. Grilling together or baking stick bread over the campfire made getting to know each other happen naturally.

As students of technical professions, we are, of course, interested in the latest developments in the technology and IT sectors. That’s why we went to the IFA again this year to see what the future holds. From specially designed keyboards and life-like Halloween figures to robotic pets, there was plenty that grabbed our attention.

Our first project week at two locations offered a lot of variety for everyone. The program included not only excursions, cultural experiences, and role exchanges, but also very practical projects, such as redesigning our Green Room or expanding the Wi-Fi network in Pankow. Enriched with many new experiences, we then headed into the holidays.

At the end of the school year, we all had the chance to gather our courage once more and reach unexpected heights in the Climbing Forest Grünheide. It's amazing how much strength and determination it takes to stay on track while riding a Bobbycar

What do we need to make a success of our trip to the Baltic Sea where we get to know each other? The beach, seagulls, a cozy place to sleep and a bike to explore the island. In addition to the well-known sights and the obligatory group photo at the German-Polish border, this time we took the treetop pathway and once again, had a lot of fun.

Two weeks in Tokyo and a new adventure every minute. From an exciting visit to Mitsubishi Fuso to informative insights into Japanese (working) culture, an unforgettable Japanese crash course with snow and incredibly nice people. Join us on our journey and find out how we immerse ourselves in the secrets of Tokyo and push our own boundaries in the process.

With just under 12,000 inhabitants, Lienz is the seventh largest town in Tyrol and its history dates back to 2000 BC. It is a good 800 kilometers away from the local classroom and our hotspot when it comes to spending sports lessons in the finest powder snow.

What could be better than starting the training programme with an orientation class trip? As newbies, we were taken to the Baltic Sea. We a few visits to the beach with sports games, delicious barbecue and marshmallows over a campfire and after a not- so -boring cultural programme, we have become a real team. Now we can get started.

After a two-year enforced break, it was finally time for us to have fun in the snow again. Whether on snowboard or on skis, everyone made it down the mountain healthy and happy, and now we are already looking forward to the next time.

The pupils of the GPB College were able to experience how European politics is shaped in the 360° cinema of the interactive exhibition EXPERIENCE EUROPE.  As part of a simulation game, they slipped directly into the role of MEPs and discussed current EU issues.

We went high up again this year. A day before the reports were issued, we could do like Tarzan and swing from tree to tree.
