In August 2020, a re-organization of the IT professions occurred. IT Management Assistants will in future be IT-Systems-Management Assistants. In addition, the training has an extended final examination.
When asked about your preferred profession, you answer 'Something with technology'. Would you like to combine your interest in computers with an office job and carry out an advisory function in the IT sector? Then the traineeship IT-Systems-Management Assistants is the right one for you.
You would be responsible for providing advice on and procuring software, and for finding IT solutions from a technical and business point of view. Due to the business part of your traineeship, you will have broad knowledge and your duties will be varied.
The language of instruction is mainly German except in the foreign language lessons.

In the traineeship, IT-Systems-Management Assistants learn how to plan client-specific IT system solutions while considering both technical and business aspects. That includes hardware and software solutions as well as telephone systems. They combine up-to-date knowledge of the market in the IT sector with business know-how. In discussions with customers they identify the details needed for an optimal solution.
In the business part of the traineeship you will learn the organisational and administrative part of the profession. You will learn how to calculate costs, make offers and advise customers all the way through to the signing of the contract. Also, when the computer system is up and running, you will be the customer's first point of contact.
The traineeship IT-Systems-Management Assistants lasts three years and includes a 10-month internship. The traineeship ends with an examination from the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
The full-time traineeship takes place at GPB College in the module system. That means for four days per week, you will work on a certain topic and the fifth day is the so-called school-day, where you will have lessons in the foundation subjects such as German, maths and English.
During the traineeship we offer the trainee the possibility to obtain various manufacturer certificates. In addition, by adding on one extra year at the end of the traineeship, you will have the possibility to obtain the German university entrance qualification, the Fachhochschulreife.
In the job IT Management Assistant, enjoying communicating and not being afraid of dealing with people are fundamentally important. Identifying and communicating technical issues is not a problem for you. You enjoy working with PCs and have no problem with the fundamentals of science such as mathematics and IT. Especially in the area of IT, a good knowledge of English is important. A talent for organising is just as much of an advantage in this traineeship as an interest in continually learning new things.
With the successful completion of secondary school education in a German Hauptschule or higher, the school-based entry requirements are met.
IT-Systems-Management Assistants have many possibilities in the world of work. Their job prospects are not limited to the IT sector, they are also active in almost all types of companies.

- in management consulting in the field of IT consulting
