State-certified Technical Assistants are the allrounders in the IT sector. This profession is comparable to the IT Expert for System Integration.
With the traineeship Technical Assistant at the GPB College, you will become an "IT expert with a plus" because you will not only get the professional qualification, you will also get the university entrance qualification "Fachhochschulreife".
Technical Assistants plan, install, configure and maintain information technology systems and telecommunication systems - if necessary tailored to the customer's needs. Writing the corresponding operating software is also one of the tasks. Furthermore, they train and advise customers.
The basic requirement for the traineeship Technical Assistant is that you enjoy working with computers and have no worries about dealing with electronics. In addition to manual skills you will have a logical mind and be interested in logical connections. You are good with numbers and are also interested in the economic and financial side of things. You have a talent for organising and are motivated by complex questions. You enjoy putting projects into practice and creating technical analyses and solutions.
As the IT market is changing rapidly and new requirements always need to be met, you will develop your knowledge continually.
With this traineeship you can work in companies in the electrical industry:
- For manufacturers of devices and facilities for the telecommunications technology or electronic building components
- For vehicle, machine and plant manufacturers
- In system and software houses
- In engineering companies for technical planning
Or you could work as a system administrator in any company with its own IT department.
During the three-year traineeship you will also have the possibility to gain various manufacturer certificates. This will help you to stand out from other job applicants and improve your chances professionally.
By additionally obtaining the university entrance qualification - the German Fachhochschulreife - you will be ready for further studies at a technical university and can lay the foundation for a successful career.
The three-year traineeship takes place at GPB College in the module system. That means for four days per week, you will work on a certain topic and the fifth day is the so-called school-day, where you will have lessons in the foundation subjects such as German, maths and English.
In the second year of your traineeship you will complete a three-month internship, where you will use and develop the knowledge that you have gained.
At the end are the state-certified examinations for the university entrance qualification in the foundation subjects and also in the main subjects of your traineeship: IT systems and economic processes.
